I saw this live last Saturday in Zeltweg, Austria. It produced quite a bang.
There seemed to be something wrong with the engine during the Friday display (see the crappy photo I took), I don’t know how they let it fly on Saturday, especially when they had a spare plane standing by.

There was a joke out to me made about what the Raven said after eating at Taco bell?
“Nevermore”
But I can’t find a photo of a EF-111A doing a dump&burn to make it stick.

I read that it was a compressor stall. I don’t know exactly how that affects the engine, and whether or not a replacement is necessary.

I mentioned “Raven” in the joke.

Not a Raven. The Poe joke relied on it being an EF-111 RAVEN :(

And it flew right over my head.
It was easy to miss since there was no fire.
It makes me wonder if there are ANY photos of a EF doing a pump&burn

I think it was only the Aussies who did it regularly at air shows.

Neat, in the linked video you can see condensation / smoke puff out of the inlet during the backfire.

The SR-71 Blackbird!
One of my faves!
Even when pooting at an officially-recorded 2193 mph.
They'll go faster, but there was no reason to after they claimed and kept the top spot for air-breathing planes. . .
